I was born and raised in Former Yugoslavia. Growing up, I felt an affinity for the West - it was so far in distance, yet so close with its culture constantly pervading my country. Collecting western visuals was a hobby of mine, such as comics books, music and magazines. I often consider this the first major contributor to my love of graphic design, both personally and professionally. As a teenager I was greatly influenced by DIY and punk culture, allowing me to think independently and make things on my own rather than purchase them. I believe that, through those formative years, I have strongly secured my career path as a graphic designer.
With my skills, I can take on a variety of commercial art projects. Communication is key - all projects should start off with a client meeting, where the creative process and the resources necessary for success are discussed. It is important to strike a balance between client input and creative liberty. If the client wants quality we as the designers need to have a say, as we are learned in the do's and don'ts of the industry.
I carefully review data and generate simple, concise visuals understandable to the general public. I specifically enjoy doing info-graphics that deal with environmental issues. In a small way, it makes me feel like I'm making a difference.
Creating identities is always a fun undertaking. After reviewing what the company represents and what they want to show to the pubic, I visually incorporate the idea into a logo.
Graphic design is the key to any young, up and coming business. All I need from the client is the corresponding copy and imagery they would like to use.
Packaging design is my true passion. From the initial client request, I create mechanics and 3d mock ups. Once an agreement is struck, I continue with the design onto the final stages of packaging production.
This collection features the branding I designed for my senior thesis show, which has become an on-going project that I work on in my spare time. While the pieces on display were casual designs, I am also capable of formal work. With every product endeavor, I ensure the highest standards for your brand, always going above and beyond your competitors.
During my downtime I enjoy sketching and making collages. While some works are planned, other are spontaneous. If you catch me drawing you on the bus, don't be alarmed! I believe my personal pieces help hone my graphic design skills, and can easily be applied to a client's work.
